Adding Keywords to your Content Management System Site
General website keywords
In the Admin area of your website, click on the Settings Tab in the top panel menu.
The next screen will contain information which will help your website to be found in the search engines. For more information about each of these settings visit our Boost Your Website page.
In the Website Title box, enter a title which contains your keywords, and also describes what your site is all about. The web page title is what you see written in the title bar right at the top of the web browser.
In the Website Description box, enter a concise explanation (25 words or less) of your website. Make sure you include your main key words in this description. Do not use capitals and do not keep repeating words.
In the Website Keywords, type in the main keywords or phrases that relate to your website. Enter each word or phrase followed by a comma. It can be a good idea to include incorrect spellings if they are likely to be commonly entered into search engines.
Individual page keywords
You can also add descriptions and keywords for each individual page on your website.
After logging into the Admin area on your site, click on the Pages Tab in the top panel menu. This will bring up the list of the pages on your site. To the right of each page listed, under Actions, there are some icons. Click on the settings icon (page with a pencil) and enter a description and keywords that are relevant just to that page.
