Always speak positively about your business!
...regardless of how well it is performing! Make this your Golden Rule!
Just recently I overheard a business owner loudly complaining about how the downturn in the economy had affected his bottom line, and how he now had less customers coming in the door. I wondered at the time, whether any of his clients (or competitors) were listening.
When someone asks you “how’s business?" what is your usual reply?
If you are serious about staying in business, and growing your business, then your reply needs to be positive!
Why? Because it gives people confidence. No one will buy from you if they are not feeling confident about you, your abilities, product or service. Negative comments spread like a virus and before long, your suppliers, competitors and then your potential clients will all be talking negatively about you.
Things to do
- Keep talking your business up. Not only will your customers feel more confident… you will feel better too.
- If you can’t think of any exciting current news… talk about your future plans. Be 100% positive!
